Types of material
The material types listed below are only a simplified overview of this stock list. Numerous special cases and many possible but not stocked material types were disregarded and only a few essential features were mentioned. The overview serves as an initial guide. Please also note the information on the data sheets, quality descriptions, test reports, etc.
Errors and changes excepted!
Cellular polyethylene
High-pressure polyethylene, closed-cell polyethylene foam with smooth outer skin. Strips cut from sheet and self-adhesive on one side. Soft-elastic, deformable, compressible, only low and time-delayed resilience, impermeable to air, water and dust, water absorption below 1%.
Elastomoll
Polyurethane ester, open-cell flexible foam without outer skin, strips cut from sheet and self-adhesive on one side, soft-elastic, deformable, compressible, good resilience with deformations of up to 40%, for sealing against draft, heat, cold, dust and sound.
Comprizell
Polyurethane ester, open-cell foam without outer skin. Impregnated with acrylic dispersion and pre-compressed, strips cut from sheet and self-adhesive on one side, permanently elastic, deformable, compressible, very good time-delayed resilience, different sealing effect depending on the degree of compression.
Cellular rubber
Cellular rubber, closed-cell, without outer skin. Vulcanized in moulds and split into sheets, if applicable cut into strips and self-adhesive on one side, elastic, deformable, compressible, moderate resilience, impermeable to air, water and dust, water absorption approx. 3-6%.
Sponge rubber
Continuously extruded sponge rubber profiles or mould-heated sponge rubber sheets, vulcanized, profiles mainly closed-cell, panels mixed-cell, with smooth or fabric-patterned closed outer skin, partly self-adhesive on one side, elastic, deformable, compressible, very good resilience, air-, water- and dust-impermeable outer skin, even with repeated and permanent compression
Silicone foam
Continuously extruded silicone foam profiles or calendered silicone foam sheets, vulcanized, mainly closed-cell, with smooth, closed outer skin. Partially self-adhesive on one side, elastic, deformable, compressible, very good resilience. Water and organic substance repellent, air-, water- and dust-impermeable outer skin, even with repeated and permanent compression.
Rubber
Continuously extruded homogeneous rubber profiles or calendered rubber sheets, vulcanized, with a smooth, closed surface. Partially self-adhesive on one side, elastic, deformable but not compressible, depending on the type of rubber, average to good resilience, impermeable to air, water and dust, mechanically resilient. Can be extruded in various forms.
Butyl
Continuously extruded homogeneous butyl profiles, non-vulcanized, with closed self-adhesive surface on all sides, partly laminated with fleece or aluminum foil, Permanently elastic, stable, deformable, without resilience, self-welding, nearly impermeable to water vapor.
Silicone
Continuously extruded homogeneous silicone profiles, vulcanized, with smooth closed surface, partially self-adhesive on one side, elastic, deformable but not compressible, good resilience, impermeable to air, water and dust, mechanically resilient, can be extruded in a variety of shapes and colors.
Coextrusion profiles
Continuously extruded profiles made of rubber and sponge rubber or silicone and silicone foam, with or without steel inlays, with a closed surface, for combining different features of different types of material.
